Michael Schumacher's Car Ready For Upgrades

Filed in archive F1 Racing on April 26, 2010

Michael Schumacher hasn't exactly had the best start this season in what was meant to be his one-off comeback to Formula One. The '90s legend of Ferrari has struggled to get into the points at all this season and currently sits 10th in the table after four races with 10 points, his team Mercedes GP sitting 4th in the constructor's table on 60 points. This puts Schumacher 50 points behind leader Jensen Button and his team 49 points behind the McLaren at the top. Crucially, he finds himself 40 points adrift of his team mate Nico Rosberg, who sits in 2nd place on the table with 50 points, one ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. To see the full table take a look here.

With ten days to go until the next race, his team have plenty of time to help improve his car, and that's exactly what they have admitted they must do. On more than one occasion so far into this young season Schumacher has proved that his experience puts him miles ahead of the rest as a driver, and with the right car he would be unstoppable.

Seen that? - How to Clean An Oil Spill

How to Clean An Oil Spill Under My Helmet

Seen that? - How to Clean An Oil Spill
So you're changing the oil on you rig and you spill it all over the garage floor. You've cleaned up the bulk of it by soaking it up with rags or paper towels, but there's still a huge black spot on the floor. You can get some kind of oil abosrbent (Zorbent for instance), it's a fine white powder you put on the oil spill and sweep up later. Typically expensive [...] Read More

Canada ATVers Ride for Trash Pickup Under My Helmet

I read on quads.ca that they're scheduling an annual province wide cleanup day, scheduling it this year for September 23. This annual event could prove to be bigger than some of the dune cleanups the ASA has annually in the ISDRA, because these events are going on simultaneously all across the province. It's great to see groups of concerned, responsible ATVers getting together like this. It's been my experience that, while [...] Read More

Dumont Dunes Cleanup Under My Helmet

For 5 years in a row, the Friends of Dumont Dunes have been holding an annual cleanup at the sand dunes. For 5 years in a row, they had great success. This year they filled 2 dumpsters in 100° heat. They found some interesting items, too. A huge roll of barbed wire for one. That's always fun to run into in the sand. They found a catheter too. What the...? The [...] Read More

Labtec Spill-Resistant Keyboard The Gadgets Weblog

It's not often that I get to write about a gadget that I would actually buy. It's mostly because I usually can't afford whatever it is or I don't personally want it. In this case, it's something I happen to need-a new keyboard-and I can afford it. When I saw this Labtec keyboard come across Woot (or more specifically, Sellout.Woot), I said: hey! It's something I actually need at a [...] Read More

Seen that? - Lane Splitting

Lane Splitting Under My Helmet

Seen that? - Lane Splitting
Lane splitting is when a motorcycle, usually on the freeway in slow traffic, rides between lanes with slower cars in both lanes, in order to move faster than traffic. It is often viewed as unsafe, as well as illegal. I think we can all agree that it's somewhat unsafe as compared to staying in a lane like a car. How unsafe it is can be determined by many factors, but [...] Read More

Enterprise Software Economic structure Unsustainable - Ray Lane The CIO Weblog

"I believe the enterprise software industry is at a Crossroads. Its economic structure may be unsustainable," because most software companies can no longer afford to plow 50 to 60 percent of their revenue into sales and marketing or 25 percent into R&D, said Lane as he kicked off the Software 2006. Currently, 85 percent of revenues are concentrated among 15 companies, with three companies making most of the profit. And one [...] Read More

Peeking in on Kenneth Jay Lane Pretty Things

Many of you know that I am a fan of Kenneth Jay Lane. Of course every now and then I like to add a piece from his collection. Driving and prescription drugs
© woodleywonderworks
Driving is sheer fun but if you are on prescription drugs then do consult your doctor before taking the wheels in your hands as you might not only risk your own life but even the life of people on the roads. In several states, driving laws are quite strict therefore you must check the traffic rules before taking the road after popping prescription drugs.

When on road you always need to mentally and physical alert for your own good and for other people on the road. Some prescription drugs can lead to restlessness, drowsiness, dizziness or nervousness therefore check with your doctor before popping them and driving.

Before consuming prescription drug, always follow advice of your doctor and instructions written on the label. This is necessary for your own safety and good health. Keep these simple instructions related to prescription drugs in mind and you will stay safe on the road.

Bahrain

Filed in archive F1 Racing on March 17, 2010

The F1 season kicked off this weekend with what turned out to be a slow but eventful race. On the first and second corners we expected collisions, and collide the drivers did. Adrian Sutil's Force India span out with Robert Kubica's Renault, making sure that they both finished outside the points in the first race, and while Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel took poll in qualifying he finished 4th overall. Nine drivers retired before the end, including Virgin Racing newcomer di Grassi and one Bruno Senna of the new Hispania Racing, while both experienced drivers Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock also failed to make it to the end.

Bahrain

It seems like it is back to the old order of things though, with Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa coming first and second, while McLaren's Lewis Hamilton took 15 points for third place. I have to say this is actually quite disappointing. After last year we saw a different and frankly more fascinating race between Brawn GP (now Mercedes) and Red Bull, and with the new points system and abundance of new constructors this season we thought it might be different. While it still promises to be one of the most intriguing seasons to watch in recent memory, we do hope it becomes more competitive...
