Why People Buy Jeeps (2 videos)

Jeeps have been around for a long time. They were developed for the military as capable off-road vehicles. They were later used for sport and recreation. There's a very large and profitable industry for Jeep accessories and modifications.

There's a good reason for that. They're capable. They can go places most other vehicles can only dream of going. Even stock they are able to go places many most other 4x4's simply can't go.

Here's a couple of videos from a recent trip to the desert showing some of the capabilities of jeeps. They're both on the same hill. One jeep made it up with very little effort. I only caught the tail end on film.




The guy following him took a bit longer, but made it after a few tries.




I saw him later on the other side of that hill, going over rocks that were simply un-real. Click for larger image.
