Why People Buy Jeeps (2 videos)
Jeeps have been around for a long time. They were developed for the military as capable off-road vehicles. They were later used for sport and recreation. There's a very large and profitable industry for Jeep accessories and modifications.
There's a good reason for that. They're capable. They can go places most other vehicles can only dream of going. Even stock they are able to go places many most other 4×4's simply can't go.
Here's a couple of videos from a recent trip to the desert showing some of the capabilities of jeeps. They're both on the same hill. One jeep made it up with very little effort. I only caught the tail end on film.
The guy following him took a bit longer, but made it after a few tries.
I saw him later on the other side of that hill, going over rocks that were simply un-real. Click for larger image.
