We Sometimes Fall Part IV
This is part IV of a multi-part series of discussions which will cover some of the things we CAN control when we ride to help us prevent a fall.

We Sometimes Fall Because we want to go too fast. Going fast is why you bought your sport bike. They go fast, and they handle extremely well. Dollar for dollar it's the best value if you want extreme, functional engineering. You probably think sport bikes weren't taken into consideration when they posted the speed limits on most roads.

Sport bikes accelerate fast. Faster than most production cars. Absolutely faster than any production car in the sport bikes price range. They also brake considerably faster than productions cars. They give you a false sense of security, especially if you're a seasoned rider. You start thinking there's no speed limit you can't safely exceed. But when you come over a blind hill, even at a relatively low speed of 40mph, it might be too fast if there's something in the road that you can't react to until it's too late.

Going fast means it literally takes you longer (in terms of distance traveled) to react to any given situation that comes up.
