We Sometimes Fall Because we try to keep up with or impress others. Your bike will only go as fast as you can go on it. The most important time to remember this is when you're riding with others. There's something about getting left behind that most people that ride sport bikes don't want to be associated with, and that causes a lot of accidents.
Realizing that you're not always going to be able to keep up with the others is key to being a safe rider. It is also key to getting respect from other riders. Having to open it up a bit extra in the straights to keep your group in sight when you know you're going to lose them in the corners is nothing to be ashamed of.
Your friends will be much more impressed with you if they don't have to stop and call a tow-truck and an ambulance for you because you wadded it up into a tree trying to keep up with them. Most skilled riders realize the skill level of those they ride with, and often provide ample opportunity for them to catch up if they fall behind. No matter what, ride at your own pace and don't push it trying to impress or keep up with others.
