USDF Squeezing ATVs Out of Forest

Redding Record Searchlight reports that Lassen and other national forests are restricting All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) to "curb environmental destruction."
But according to some, that's not the real reason for closing down certain roads and trails... jeanette Guiducci said
"I can't hike any more, I have a bad foot," said Guiducci, a Realtor who lives in Cottonwood. "This is keeping me from enjoying the forest in the way that's left to me."
"Now that the map has come out and they have closed the trails, it almost looks like they wanted to find out what roads we like to ride so they could close them," Guiducci said.
While the closure is only 10 percent of the available trails, it's a start, just like it was a start to close a few acres at the SDRA, where there are now thousands of acres closed, and more slated for closure.
Give them an inch...

"Now that the map has come out and they have closed the trails, it almost looks like they wanted to find out what roads we like to ride so they could close them," Guiducci said.
