The "Green" Earth Terrain Vehicle Doesn't Use Gas

There's a big push for "green" vehicles these days. Electric cars are becoming more popular. I've seen a motorcycle that goes pretty damn fast too. But up until now I haven't seen an electric ATV.

Barefoot Motors has one. It's 100% electric (it runs on batteries), and can tow up to a thousand pounds. I'm not real sure how bad lithium batteries are for the environment, but I'm pretty damn happy about seeing more and more effort to reduce air pollution and help rid our dependency on foreign oil.

I am aware that an electric motor has the potential to easily and handily out-perform an internal combustion engine, so this could be a great selling point. Speaking of selling points, they'll need to do something about that picture on their web site showing a guy sliding in the dirt without a helmet on if they don't want to catch a bunch of flak from safety groups.

The biggest issue I see with electric vehicles is the length of time it takes to charge batteries. I can't see people sitting at a gas electric station charging their batteries for 2 hours.
