Summertime ATV Riding Tips
Filed in archive ATV Safety on May 28, 2008
The Texas farm bureau wants to remind everyone that, as summer approaches, it's time t refresh yourselves on ATV safety. (Yes, lots of farmers use ATVs) :)
Agriculture News | Texas Farm Bureau
• Drivers should receive proper training and supervision while operating an ATV.
• Always wear a helmet while operating an ATV.
• All drivers should maintain proper body positioning and weight distribution while operating an ATV.
• ATVs are not meant for driving on paved roads.
• Do not operate ATVs in adverse weather, poor lighting situations or on hazardous terrains, such as near cliffs, bodies of water or other such locales where the machine could flip and pin the driver in perilous situations.
• And never, ever, take-or allow others to take-unnecessary risks while driving an ATV. That means no stunts, no operating under the influence, no speeding, and unless the vehicle is specifically designed for such purpose, no extra passengers.
