Silverstone Back on the Cards
Filed in archive F1 Racing on December 7, 2009
After the ongoing saga almost ruled out Silverstone as the British Grand Prix course and Donnington took the lead as the bookies favourite to host the 2010 British leg of the F1 Championship, British fans of the sport didn’t know what to think. Would the sport leave its home in the UK forever, and would the swift evolution of F1 racing into something unrecognisable continue on all fronts?
With McLaren having recently become the super-team of the two most recent Champions, Jenson Button and Louis Hamilton, it was expected that the spiritual home of British F1 racing would not feature the team fighting it out as the first all British affair of the century.
The most recent news, however, is that Silverstone is back on the cards. With a news conference organised for tomorrow at Silverstone expected to reveal the venue has secured the race for next year, check back later in the week for the final announcement.
