Shooting Yourself (and the Rest of Us) in the Foot

It's getting to the point where it's very hard to find a place to ride an ATV legally. There are regulations, closures, registration, age limits, etc etc etc that prevent us from riding. More and more, day by day we, as ATV riders, are being squeezed into smaller and smaller areas. I guess we know how some animals, like mountain lions, must feel when their areas are taken over by humans.

It's bad enough that we've got a bunch of idiot ignorant politicians who are fighting against us and closing our public land to ATV use. But we've also got plenty of our own type who are fighting against us as well. Those are the ones I want to smack upside the head first.

A Kentucky newspaper writes:

Residents seek law to control ATV pests

Noise plagues area
All-terrain vehicles and dirt bikes without mufflers are kicking up dust and tempers in the Spring Garden Estates subdivision.

"It's a little 45-home subdivision out in the middle of a field," said David Hunsader of Rose Petal Drive, who circulated a petition May 5-9 that attracted 70 signatures. The residents want Boone County officials to find a way to make the noisy vehicles illegal on properties of less than five acres.

What the hell are these people thinking? Are they thinking? Seriously, is it too much to ask that these kids put a pipe on their quads and show a little respect? It would go a long way to help prevent legislation that limits you from doing things on your own property.
