To the Glamis Community,
This is a message from Brian Cotham directly.

All,
I want to briefly give you my prospective on the Epic show pallet deal. I will start by offering a sincere apology to anyone that has taken exception to the shows content, behavior or acts thereto. Frankly, I think the show overall was awesome minus the fire. TV is TV and it is made for entertaining people. I am a person that believes in karma, doing the right thing, and for that matter what comes around goes around. Both personally and as the President/CEO of SU I am committed to doing everything that supports the idea of ALL of our families and friends being able to enjoy and recreate at Glamis for eternity. Proof of that is our commitment to United Desert Gateway, ASA, ORBA, CORVA, Tread Lightly, MANY MANY CLEAN UP endeavors, our commitment in working to comply with the California Air Resources Board and about any other duner rights org. that approaches us. In fact, if you have any doubts at all reach out to the respective leaders of these orgs and ask who is doing what in the industry to support them. This is not a financial contribution statement!! It is statement of we take action and believe in leaving Glamis cleaner than when we got there every single time. While you're on the line ask them what you could do as an individual as they are perpetually looking for good people to lead committees and further the causes.

There are no excuses regarding the show. In retrospect I would have handled the fire thing differently. For that I apologize to the greater Desert Family. While I strongly disagree with some of the frankly incorrect and lame commentary it did help solidify for my own brain how to better the scenario could have been handled regardless of the appropriate clean up effort afterwards. Hindsight is always 20-20.

For your information though it was a long couple of days, the producer had some wood dropped off, the climax of the show was to have all of the cast eat at a desert bonfire and talk about their epic day, the Hollywood TV type thing was going on, and frankly even though I did not feel great about it at the time the thought was no harm-no foul as long as long as it gets cleaned up properly. Again, we were wrong especially if you conclude that newcomers could take the lead on this and not clean it up properly. This is what gets to me about it all. We did nothing illegal and such but I have two sons and I want their children being able to enjoy the times I have with them without a nail in the foot. I get it. We spend a lot of time educating so I understand the effect of idiocracy and education.

I will attempt to nip it in the rump before it starts...........I absolutely WILL NOT get into a long hateful unproductive string online here with someone that has nothing to lose. I handle my business ethically and upfront. If anyone would like to speak with me personally the number to the shop is 909 230 9797 or my personal email is bcotham@suspensionsunlimited.com or better yet stop by. As someone in an earlier note mentioned, let's spend all this quality energy solving problems not running our .............

To further solidify my point on commitment to this topic. I am leaving this Sunday afternoon for a couple day trip to Sacramento with the ORBA team and peer business owners to interface with the politicians. The focus will be to articulate for them the minimal (if any) environmental impact, positive economic impact, family orientation, build relationships, federal/state resources that are required, land use restrictions, and overall good nature of the activity we all enjoy. We are also working closely with CARB to protect your interest for the long haul.

In conclusion, I apologize! It was a simple brain fade and out of character. Please do not make more of it than it is and let's work together to keep the place we all love a better place.

Sincerely,
Brian Cotham
