Quads On The Farm

We recently went to Ocotillo Wells on a camping/riding trip. We originally were going to go with the cousins and Cz's teacher and her family, but the cousins ended up going to Ocotillo to camp with some friends from their dad's work. We weren't going to go there, but ended up going anyway to try to help with their motorhome, which had lost brakes and steering on the way. It made it to the camping area, but they didn't want to try to drive it back.

We ended up spending Friday and Friday night there, and left Sat to go to Ocotillo Wells to be with our friends. The place we camped at with the cousins was, different. I guess the guys they camped with know one of the farmers in that area and we were literally camped on his farm, next to a canal. From there you can take the small dirt roads between fields all the way to Superstition and even Ocotillo Wells on the quads.

The farmer had set aside one of his fields for them to ride in, and even used some of his farming equipment to carve out a very nice and very technical track. It was definitely an experience I'll not soon forget. We even got to watch the Blue Angels practice right over our head for an upcoming show.



I can honestly say I've never camped/ridden on a farm before. I don't think the kids will forget it either. At least not Cz. He got to ride with the cousins again, this time on something he could almost keep up with them on. (He'd never ridden with the cousins while camping at the skill level he can ride at now.) They did follow the leader for a while, and his cousins taught him how to do a little bit of crawling.
