Brayton started riding at the age of 3 and had a decade of riding experience. The quad he was riding was a Kawasaki 360 4x4. It's a fairly large, powerful machine.
Even with 10 years of riding experience, being alone on an ATV is a bad idea. You can't decide when an accident is going to happen. You can only prepare for it (safety equipment, and not riding alone) and ride in a manner to avoid it. (Investigators said the snow and ice were likely part of the reason the quad flipped)

Oh, how sad. I wonder if the ATV he was riding was age and size appropriate for him. It's so devastating that something so fun can turn into a nightmare for any parent.
