Peter Sauber, founder of F1 team BMW Sauber, is to buy back his creation. News has told us that after a deal between BMW and Qadbank Investments had fallen through, the German car company turned to 20% share holder Sauber and a provisional agreement has been made.
Sauber retained a 20% stake in his company after selling it to BMW four years ago and is set to take control once more, hoping to rival Ross Brawn in what could easily become a one-man team (as far as the media are concerned).
BMW Sauber lost their place in next year’s competition to Lotus who return for the 2010 season, after failing to sign the all important Concorde Agreement when all the fuss and broo-ha-ha between Ferrari and Eccleston was in full swing. However, now that Toyota have pulled out of next season there is a gap on the grid which Peter Sauber just might be willing to take.
The official entry list is to be published on Monday, so check back then for news of who will race next year...
