New Laws for ATVs and Hunting in Oregon
Filed in archive Legislation/Environment News on November 5, 2007

As a kid that grew up hunting in Oregon, I never got to use an ATV to get around, that sure would have made things easier. Instead, we drove up the logging roads in my dad's GMC P/U and then hoofed it through the woods. Kids these days have it so easy.
These days, ATVs are everywhere and they're used for everything from farming and ranching tools to emergency service and military applications, and especially recreational, either by riding as the recreation, or by hunters and fishermen who use them to ride to their destination.
There are several new laws going into effect this coming new-year, so if you're in Oregon, make sure you find out what they are. They largely deal with things like driving with a loaded weapon, driving on closed roads, and destroying protected habitat.
