The British MotoGP 2010 has just finished after being held at Silverstone for the first time in 14 years. Jorge Lorenzo began the race in pole position followed by Randy de Puniet in 2nd and Dani Perdosa in 3rd. The leader slipped a little through the race but eventually finished in 1st place, with Andrea Dovizioso coming second and Ben Spies coming in 3rd. Australia's Casey Stoner was taken on the last lap and finished 5th having started in 6th, and his frustration was clear from the bowed head and helmet knocks crossing the line.

Lorenzo celebrated the win with an homage to British pop group the Beatles, dressing with his mechanics as their alter egos Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. He has consolidated his lead in the championship race and is ahead of the pack by 25 points. Honda's Pedrosa sits in 2nd place on 65 and Rossi with Yamaha in 3rd on 61, an injury keeping him from Round 5 this week.
