Management = Closure in Reno’s Martis Area Travel Management Plan
Off road enthusiasts who frequent the mountains West of Reno may be in for a closure if the Martis Area Travel Management Plan is approved. The plan goes after 54,000 acres of hilly area, of which about 25 miles of roads are subject to closure.
There is already a plan in effect that allows the managed usage of motorized vehicles, but the new Martis plan wants to take that away. There are groups of off-roaders fighting the newly proposed plan. If you're in that area, you might want to look into it and voice your opinion.
