Man And Dog Travel 5,000 Miles On ATV
Filed in archive News on April 5, 2007
I've always wondered what magnitude of a mental breakdown would convince a person that they need to ride a bike or walk across country. I've met people at the Red Woods who were doing it. I've met people here in San Diego doing it. I could just never figure out "why".
Then I heard about this guy, Nathan Beck, who rode his ATV with his dog on a 5,000 mile trip from Reno to Sturgis. He didn't originally plan on going to Sturgis, he planned on going just to Canada. Then once he got to Canada he decided to go further.
It's a truly epic journey that I still don't think I'd want to make, but if you're going to do it, doing it on a ATV would be a great way to see the back-country.
You can read about his entire trip at his journal here.
