This is a short video, but shows a lot about the progress of my oldest son's riding ability. First a quick bit of history. My oldest son Cz is 4. He's been riding his bicycle without training wheels ever since he was 3-1/2. He's crashed it a couple of times, but nothing too serious. His cousins were a big help in motivating him to ride. He broke the training wheels, and I never fixed them, so if he was to ride, it was to be without them.
His cousins also gave him an electric motorcycle over a year ago. After a couple failed attempts to ride it, it sat for a while. He was still aware of it, and knew some day he'd ride it. He even practiced towing it around in a trailer on his quad.
Once Cz got comfortable riding his bicycle without training wheels, and after spending more and more time with the cousins riding their motorcycles in the back yard, he got more ambitious about riding it. He talked about it often but never did.
Then one day, he told me, very matter-of-factly, that he was "going to ride my motorcycle today". I've heard similar things before, but this was different, and sure enough, he rode it. I forget exactly when he started, but only a few months later, we were at his friends house breaking in the motor of my new Raptor, and we took Cz's motorcycle with us.
It didn't take long for him to start taking it over this jump. Well, ok, it's a bump. Not much bigger than a speed bump. But when you're 4, it's like a huge jump, and just as exciting as anything he'll ever do. (He still talks about it) He was so proud of himself. But not as proud as I am.

Yes I have taken him on big motorcycles. See the article here:

The laws should state that as long as the passenger can reach the foot pegs with both feet at the same time they are able to ride as passengers.
If you're on private property, it might be better to have her on the front, just make sure her feet/legs are away from the hot engine.

Wow! That's amazing, riding it at four! My Violet (who will be 8 in two weeks) must starting riding 2 wheel bicycle in the last month or so. I'm amazed that he's even taking the jumps! That's cool!

Thanks for stopping by, Mandy, good to "see" you again!
My brother-in-law dropped off a gas powered Honda 50cc that Cz wants to try to ride really bad. I'm going to pick up a tube for it some day this week and we'll see how he does. (It's got a flat tire.)
As for bicycles, Cz rode without training wheels at 3-1/2 years. (He broke them and I refused to fix them :) )
Got videos here if interested:

He crashed in the second one. But he's ok.

My little girl cannot reach the footpegs (by 8-10 inches) and she is pestering me to take her for a ride ever since she got a helmet for her 5th birthday. I would love to, but safety comes first. I have asked a Michigan State Police Officer about laws govorning child passengers on motorcycles and he informed me that there is no age limit. more info on my blog: http://www.lovebiker.com/blogs/blog_messages?blog_id=36060
