Jeep Patriot Production Begins
Filed in archive Reviews on December 28, 2006
The all new 2007 Jeep Patriot started production this month. Sporting a 2.4L 4Cy DOHC 16V Dual Variable Valve Timing Engine, a 5-Speed Manual Transmission and Electronic Roll Mitigation, the Jeep's almost cheep-ish plastic interior leaves something to be desired. That seems to be the norm for Chrysler of late. It seems they've decided to try and make affordable vehicles and gotten away from the 'go anywhere' mantra they've had in the past.
Don't get me wrong, I have a jeep and love it. But it's from 1987 and it's a Wrangler with a straight six. I've driven a few others, and have been less than overwhelmed with them. They're OK for a daily driver, to take the kids and equipment to football practice, or to get the groceries, but I wouldn't want to take one on the trail or in the dunes, simply because of the on-board computers.
