Goodyear Mud Runner Run-Flat Tire

Goodyear Mud Runner Run-Flat Tire

One of the things ATV riders worry about while riding is getting a flat tire out on the trail, miles away from camp or help. Goodyear has come to the rescue with the Mud Runner Run-Flat tire. This tire can supposedly run with a 2 inch hole in it. That's a pretty damn big hole, and if you did something while riding to cause a hole like that, you've probably got better things to worry about than a flat tire.

Be that as it may, if you get a flat, the Mud Runner Run-Flat tire should be able to get you back safely, providing up to 50 miles at 25 miles per hour. There's nothing special about the tire as far as mounting and compatibility with existing wheels.

According to Goodyear:

* Was designed specifically for the muddiest conditions imaginable.
* Has advanced tread rubber compound and computer-enhanced tread design that prevents clogging.
* Has a one-inch tread depth and paddle-shaped lugs that tear through mud.
* Has slotted lugs that provide more biting edge to maintain momentum.
* Has four-ply construction that enhances longevity while providing excellent puncture resistance.
* Has a reinforced sidewall that utilizes an extra-thick molded insert that is extremely difficult to puncture.
* Has an extra-strong sidewall that maintains its shape and driving capability even after sustaining damage that would make ordinary atv tires undrivable.
* Was designed for ATVs with an engine displacement of at least 300cc, to handle the punishment of higher speeds.
* Has Centerline riding pads that ensure a smooth ride in all conditions.

The Mud Runner Run-Flat is available in sizes AT25-8-12, AT25-10-12 and AT25-11-10.

Mudrunners have served well on my Honda Forman for 6200 rocky miles with no problems. I only had to Slime the L.R. tire for a recent slow leak.
