Dumont Dunes Cleanup

For 5 years in a row, the Friends of Dumont Dunes have been holding an annual cleanup at the sand dunes. For 5 years in a row, they had great success. This year they filled 2 dumpsters in 100° heat.
They found some interesting items, too. A huge roll of barbed wire for one. That's always fun to run into in the sand. They found a catheter too. What the...?
The BLM got involved too. That's probably a shock for many. I'm starting to get used to the BLM helping off roaders in small ways, especially when the off roaders are doing things to help the environment. They provided trash bags and lunch for those cleaning up. They even made the weekend a free weekend so people wouldn't have to pay to go do the clean up.
That and prized out the wazoo. It's no wonder that every year more and more folks participate in these cleanups. Word is getting out; we need to take care of our land or we may lose it.
