For at least the third time, the proposed Collier County ATV park has been put on hold. This time because they found a crested cara cara's nest at the site north of Immokalee and federal guidelines that would prohibit ATVs within a certain distance from the nest, possibly making the site unusable for ATVs.
How interesting! I recall a few other instances where a certain animal, vegetable or mineral was "found" close to an Off Road area. Don't worry that that particular animal, vegetable or mineral is not indigenous to that area, as was the case here in San Diego with a certain sea monkey that was "planted" in a construction zone by a green enviromental whacko to get the government to step in and stop construction.
They're also using false reports in Glamis (Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area) on the PMV in order to get more and more areas closed to OHV.
I am not saying that these green freaks planted that cara cara's nest there, but I sure wouldn't put it past them!
