Cleaner F1 Racing
Always an innovative sport, the F1 governing body have sanctioned the establishment of a team to investigate cleaner ways to continue racing.
The idea was something that was always put on the back-burner under Max Mosley, but with the welcome news that he had stepped down as President of the FIA we expected movemt on the issue, and it has finally arrived.
The new initiative is the brainchild of new president Todt, who is in agreement with Mosley on certain cost-cutting grounds. He has called the scrapping of Kers technology "a mistake", but hasn't quite gone as far to agree with him on the idea of a budget-cap. Mosley was going to keep spending below £40 million, but teams have found ways to cut spending in other areas such as research.
Todt has called some teams in the sport "blind", telling us that they often are unaware of the world around them. "F1 is too expensive", he has said, "the cost-saving measures already taken are not sufficient".
