Somebody's got to stand up for the rights of 6-year-old driversthat made me want to puke. In it, the Cindy Sheehan of ATVs writes about how many kids get hurt/killed on ATVs
She claims in her article that
Senators will decide today whether they want to defer action until 500 more kids are rushed to the emergency room - and three more die.
Last year in South Carolina, 3 kids died on ATVs. Several hundred were injured.
What she fails to mention is that 784 bicyclists died on US roads in 2005. If you average it out, that's over 15 deaths per state per year, only on bicycles. Why are bicycles not outlawed? I agree that the per capita may not add up, but still, too many kids are getting killed on bikes. Where's Cindi to stand up for 6 year old riders?
And what about pedestrians? over 120 died in So Carolina in 2006. OVER 120 people died WALKING!! That's 40 times more than died on ATVs. Where's the outrage? Where's Cindi to stand up for 6 year old walkers?
I, for one, think Cindi Scoppe needs to a) learn how to control her bicycle better and b) focus her diatribe and vitriol on something more worthwhile.

You know its because we are the minority :(. Really people need to stop freaking out about people who ride off highway vehicles. They only go after us because we are a easy target.

You're right, James: They come after us because we're an easy target, and that's why I will continue to post these issues here in an effort to get more people aware of the facts and to try to spur some kind of action.
