Chatham, Canada Considers Lifting ATV Ban
Filed in archive Legislation/Environment News by Matt on December 6, 2007

There's a small fortune waiting...
Chatham
-Kent (in Canada) will be re-considering the previous ban on ATVs using certain sections of the municipality. It's not because they think it's fair to the ATVers, it's because it's a potential treasure trove. They're proposing a 1 year pilot program to determine if it's profitable, err, I mean manageable. People there are struggling as it is to find new sources of tourism dollars. If they decide to allow ATVs to use certain areas for sport and recreation, I'm pretty sure the dollars will start coming in.
What they really need to do is build an off road park. That would be a great hike for the local economies there.
