See B.S. News is on the "Lie about ATV Statistics" bandwagon too. Sorry, but that's not news. That's opinion, and it's wrong.

cbs news just can't kick the habits of good ol boy Dan Rather. They're misrepresenting facts to the point where it's a flat out lie.

They claim a 24% increase in children's accidents in the last 5 years.

But the CPSC says...

The estimated number of 4-wheel ATVs in use has grown by 3.8 million from 1998 to 2004 to nearly 7 million vehicles. This compares to the less than half a million in use when the Commission first addressed ATVs back in 1984.

That translates to an increase of over 100% in usage from 1998 to 2004. So ATV accidents have literally gone down by ~75%

Must be that new math.
