Bush Administration Sets All-time Record for Denying Protection to Endangered Species: Zero New Listings in Past Year
Report Documents Rampant Executive Interference in Protection of Rare Wildlife
Whether or not you like Bush is besides the point. The point is things like the closure of parts of Glamis (Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area) because of false data presented by the CBD about Peirson's Milk Vetch, a member of the pea family. There is an ongoing effort to de-list the plant and re-open the closed portions of the dunes after several years of monitoring data by many members of the off road community. (I'll have more on this later)
And what about construction sites which have been rumored to have been seeded with so-called rare brine shrimp (sea monkeys) by eco-wackos hell bent on stopping all future human progress? These freaks have no issues with burning down other people's things, what makes you think they'll balk at planting false evidence of life in a construction zone?
I think the CBD and the Endangered Species Act needs to be completely re-done or removed. I'm all for protecting wildlife that we've endangered. To a point. But there needs to be an even playing field when it comes to having a major impact on human activity and the listing or de-listing of species because of that activity.
Whether you like it or not, 99% of all species that ever walked the earth is now extinct, and it's not all because of humans. Just so you know where I stand... if it comes down to me or that damn frog... well, sorry frog, we'll miss you!
