Barefoot Motors is taking the the Utility Quad to a new level
A few months ago I spoke about an electric quad, the Model One, being developed by Barefoot Motors with the help of some pretty bright and well know people like Jamie Hyneman from Mythbusters, and Michael Lock of Ducati North America.
A few days ago I had the privilege of seeing first hand what the Model One is all about. After a very short time in the saddle, I developed a smile that wouldn't go away.
As a "proof of concept" quad, the Model One shows great promise in our quest to become energy independent. The current running model uses a Polaris 800 internal combustion (IC) chassis, but the final product will be an original design created around the specific needs of this type of machine.
The application potential is unlimited and there is strong interest for IC alternatives in the Agricultural Industry. Look for more posts here at Under My Helmet that will outline some of the potential uses and benefits of such a development in more detail.
