ATVs Banned on Private Property
Filed in archive ATV , Legislation/Environment News , News , Rants on June 7, 2007
Remember my post a few weeks ago called Shooting Yourself (and the Rest of Us) in the Foot where I was ranting about ATV usage being banned on private property? Well guess what... phillyburbs.com reported yesterday that;
...Doylestown Township supervisors amended their nuisance ordinance Tuesday night to prohibit the use of ATVs and other off-road vehicles within 50 feet of another property.
That means if your property is less than 100 feet wide, you can't ride ATVs on your property. Not even to move your ATV from the garage to the trailer or truck.
Why was this done?Jeffrey Sommers of Ridgeview Lane was one of the original complainants.
He said he had neighbors who rode dirt bikes and ATVs around their property at all hours of the day, which made it difficult for him to enjoy his property.
I don't know if Jeffrey was being unreasonable or if he had a legit complaint.
File this one as another loss for ATV goers on their own property.
