Off-Road

Brian, the ASA Chapter Chair, brings up a good point that we should consider when we're out at the desert with our kids, or even in local neighborhoods; off road vehicles, including ATVs, motorcycles and UTVs should not be ridden by kids unsupervised.
In other words, sending little Johnny off on a quad by himself or a group of peers is not only irresponsible, it's inconsiderate to others.
Brian puts it like this:
I'm going to rag on some parents here. We've all seen these parents at the dunes, maybe even in your own neighborhood. You know the kind, send the little kiddies off somewhere so they sit on their ***** and drink and bs with their friends. Just so that they're not bothered by their own offspring. Show the kiddies the basics on how to operate something, tell them to go away from camp and leave the dust to someone else.
Only problem is, it's not just about "the dust". What happens when little Johnny flips his quad end over end? Who'll be there to help him? Not the parents, that's for damn sure! They're the ones that sent him off to "play". I've helped my fair share of kids (other people's kids from other camps) when they fall. Many times, the parents don't even know it happened.
