They want it both ways, but get mad if they don't get their way
Wheeler News Service reports that a Wisconsin Department of natural resources plan to add riding trails for ATVs is a great idea on the one hand, because the money for fees and registration is usually very sporty where there are ATV parks and trails. Legal ones. It's a nice little boom to the economy of any size town, but especially to smaller ones.
Some townspeople in Pierce County are upset because they can't have it both ways. They want the trail system, but don't want it in near them because they're afraid of spreading, wait, get this... "invasive species" in the area. Namely, the infamous purple loosestrife. A plant that got here in the early 1800s, and was spread all over the norther US and Canada by the late 1800s, without the help of ATVs.
