ATV Safety: Placing the Blame Where it Belongs
Filed in archive News on November 26, 2007

A Scottsdale father was taken to jail for child endangerment after crashing his ATV with his 3 kids aged 4, 7 & 9, all of which were not wearing helmets.
I remember when my dad used to let me and my 2 brothers all sit on his Norton 750 Commando at the same time. In fact, I've got a picture around somewhere with a that very scenario, and none of us were wearing helmets. But then, the motorcycle wasn't moving at the time, either.
Lonny Draper, the 44 year old father, tried to turn the vehicle on a steep incline causing it to roll over breaking his hip. The kids had minor injuries. I'm sure he feels bad and all, but putting your kids in that kind of risk needs to be dealt with.
