Arkansas Man Trying to Develop ATV Racetrack at Fairgrounds
There's a guy in Harrison City, Arkansas trying to get approval to create a "National ATV Track" at some extra land on the northwest Arkansas District Fairgrounds. He has estimated the cost at about $50,000.00, and is seeking the city's approval to form a fund raising organization to raise money to get the ATV track started.

What caught my attention about this proposed deal is that they are trying to get the ATV track going without using any public money. That doesn't really make sense to me because the revenue that ATV track will produce for the Harrison City area will be substantially more than the initial investment. Especially considering the rapid closure of other ATV accessible areas all over the country.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If no public money is used, how much will the city benefit from the revenue from track fees, motels, food, gas, repairs and all the other money we, as enthusiastic ATVers, spend in a weekend in or near the riding areas.
