Another Trail Propsal Another Fight
It's an uphill battle to find a place to ride an ATV. Pownal Vt had a heated debate when Bennington Trail Conservancy, a Bennington-based ATV club, asked to use Benedict Road, Mason Hill Road and a small section of Niles School Road for access to currently existing ATV trails.
The opening of those areas would create a loop of ATV trails. Of course, there were very vocal objections to the actual opening of more land for ATVs. In a time when the status quo is to close them down, an effort to open them will instantly meet with strong opposition, no matter what.
